France Outlasts Poland to Reach Quarterfinals
Giroud's Record-Breaking Goal Seals Victory
France booked their spot in the quarterfinals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup after a hard-fought victory over Poland in the knockout stage.
Both teams started the match aggressively, exchanging several shots early on. Poland nearly took the lead in the 9th minute, but Wojciech Szczesny made a spectacular save to deny Robert Lewandowski.

Poland came out strong in the second half, but France held on defensively. Kylian Mbappe had a chance to double France's lead in the 66th minute, but his shot hit the post.
Despite Poland's efforts, they were unable to find an equalizer. France held on to their 1-0 lead and secured their place in the quarterfinals. They will face England in the next round on Saturday.
